Membranes for your Industrial or Water Application
Gas Separation
The purification and separation of gas is an important challenge of todays economy. Thanks to gas separation membranes, such separations can be done without complex and energy intensive processes. Novamem can make a large variety of membranes and polymer coatings. Thus, we can provide a solution to nearly any gas separation. Click on the image, if you want to know more!
Membrane Catalysis
Membrane catalysis is a new way to conduct catalysis reactions. With the Novamem membrane technology, it is possible to implement catalytic active particles into our membranes. Therefore, we can flexibly produce specialized membranes for most catalytic processes. Click on the image to learn more about our capability.
Separation under Harsh Conditions
There are few membranes that survive harsh conditions. Membranes collapse under pressure, degenerate at extreme pH or break at higher temperature. We have membranes that can endure extreme conditions while providing a stable filtration cutoff. Learn more by clicking the image.
Solvent Filtration (MF, UF and NF)
Most membranes dissolve if in contact with organic solvents. We at Novamem made therefore membranes from high performance polymers, that do not dissolve in combination with most solvents. While being inert, the membranes can filter from micro- to nano range, without performance loss. Our membranes are consequently also the “go-to” solutions in battery applications. Membrane Distillation
Membrane distillation is a great method to purify liquids reliably and without complicated processes. Novamem membranes are optimal for distillation water, even under challenging conditions. However, we also have membranes that can be used for distillations far more challenging than just water. The high resistance polymers are also optimal to distill strong acids, bases, solvents and much more. Click on the image to learn more about membrane distillation!
Venting
Removing specific volatile chemicals from liquids is especially difficult. The chemicals have to be constantly removed, while not removing the liquid too. This can be done via membrane venting. Novamem venting membranes are leakproof for the specific liquid while permeable for the volatile compound. This process is not limited to water, but can also be applied to a vast range of liquid chemicals. Click on the image, if you would like to learn more about the venting membranes!
Water Filtration
Legionella Filtration
Most waterfilters have pore sizes of about 0.2 micron. However, legionella are long and slippery bacteria and can penetrate such membranes, rendering it useless. Therefore, we developed a membrane with 0.15 micron and 0.05 micron absolute cutoff to prevent legionella to pass through (tested by an independent laboratory). Despite the higher filtration performance, our Legionella membranes have an incredible flowrate, making it feasible for any application! Click on the image to learn more about our membranes!
Biomolecule Recovery
Recovering biomolecules like proteins from solutions are best done via membranes. Novamem provides membranes for both possible approaches. Via our nanoporous PVDF membrane, you can bind your small biomolecules onto the polymer and recover it by resuspending. This method is often done in blotting applications. On the other hand, thanks to the non-binding PEEK membrane, it is also possible to filter off the molecules with the very small pored membrane. And recollecting the molecules as a filter cake.
